On November 13, 2025, the State Tax University hosted a roundtable discussion “Sports and Law: Legal Guarantees for Ensuring Access to Sports and Recreational Services”, organized by the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Technologies, Sports and Rehabilitation together with the NOC of Ukraine Branch in Kyiv Region and the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Athletes.
The event was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and became a separate professional platform within the framework of forum events. The event brought together international experts, representatives of the Olympic movement, sports federations, scientists and lawyers focused on the development of legal mechanisms for the accessibility of sports and recreation services.
Yevheniy Promsky, Head of the Sports Law Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association and attorney at the ARES Law Company, delivered a report on the topic:
“Ukrainian Cases in CAS: Precedentes That Affect the Future.”
In his speech, he spoke about key cases of Ukrainian athletes and federations in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), as well as how these decisions form the normative and practical basis for all Ukrainian sports law.
The roundtable participants also discussed:
- the principle of strict liability in the anti-doping sphere;
- the status and role of sports federations in the legal system;
- the peculiarities of Ukrainian and European administrative and legal regulation of sports;
- criminal and legal protection of athletes in the digital space;
- social guarantees for sports industry workers;
- the relationship between the state, athletes and federations.
The event was an important step towards strengthening legal instruments that ensure the development of sports and real access to sports and health services in Ukraine.
